Description: Maria Niforos—Antique Lace & Textiles Description: Circa 1860’s… a lovely fine linen child’s dress with ornate Chikan whitework embroidery.The bodice and front panel have lovely florals, meandering vines and leaves with openwork also in the design.The wings, ruffles on the sleeves all have whitework embroidery as do the edges of the dress..the linen itself is extremely gossamer and fine in texture and the waist is hand shirred. In very good strong condition, the tie through the waist is on one side, one can either be remove or it can be thread through again.The dresses I will be listing all came from a wonderful collection of children’s items we purchased recently. Her collection of gowns and christening gowns were of a very high order as she had excellent taste. This item was laundered.
