Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE A Sarpush (sometimes spelled “sarposh” in English) is a special traditional lid used in Middle Eastern culinary cultures to cover food while serving. This rare antique sarpush dates from the 19th century and is decorated with orderly circling rows of hand-engraved paisley designs and Islamic calligraphy. Tin with copper plating. 10 ½ inches high; 9 ¾ inches in diameter at base. Considering age and function, sarpush is in very good condition with slight copper loss in one area, a slight dent in another, and some cracks on bottom rim. None of which detract from overall appearance of the piece. See photos for details.
