Description: For sale, a beautiful vintage all hand painted Pennsylvania Dutch tole ware cake cover and plate. Love these tole ware items, no two are a like! These were given as mostly wedding gifts in the 1940s. Great American Folk Art! Most of the vintage 1940s tole ware items were painted in Philadelphia PA or New York. It is traditional black background color with gorgeous red tulips, which are traditional for Pennsylvania Dutch items, green stems and leaves. The craftsmanship is outstanding, you can feel the brush strokes! It is all metal material, hand painted. Cake cover and plate are 12" in diameter, stands 4 1/4" tall. This tole cake cover and plate is in great used condition for it's age and use. Normal paint scratches and wear for it's age and use. Nice primitive item to display and use in your Farm House decor home. This would look outstanding displayed in your home. If you know vintage and antique items, nothing is perfect, I list all that I can see. Time to thin out my collections! I have been a collector for over 35 years now.
