ANTIQUE DOLL SIZE FRENCH ARMOIRE LOUVRE-BEBE RARE

Description: Here's a wonderful antique doll size French armoire, filled with night-ware, under-garments, aprons, linens and towels, most trimmed with delicate handmade lace and embroidery. The items are bundled together into packets and tied with silk ribbon. These ribbon bows were never opened, and the contents are in the original condition. All garments are hand sewn and hemmed in the tiniest stitches imaginable. It's astonishing that these doll accessories are unused, some even with the original protective paper between the folds of fabric. A pin cushion, dainty handkerchiefs and miniature spools of hair-thin silk thread are tucked in the drawer. Also in the drawer is a tiny round tin box with the paper label "fait par F. Vignier & Cie". The original Louvre - Bebe paper label is attached to the inside of the left door, listing the inventory of the armoire. Bebe Louvre dolls were made by the renowned French doll company Jumeau. Some fabrics have some expected staining due to age and the obvious fact that they were never laundered. Inside the armoire is a sachet labeled Lavandin Fleurs de Provence, probably a later addition because the seams are over-locked. We searched for anything comparable to this extraordinary piece and found nothing. The dimensions are 19.5 inches tall X 11.5 inches wide X 6.5 inches deep. It may be the only existing example of this lovely stocked French doll armoire, never disassembled and played with by a lucky little girl.
