Description: This antique snuff/.patch box by Battersea features a beautiful floral pattern on a small rectangular shape with a pastoral scene. The box is made of brass and enamel, hand-painted with gold gilt accents, and has a press fastening closure. Overall for its age this piece is in phenomenal condition. Some minor chips on outside of box, some wear on the bottom and some cracks inside, and some I believe to be natural imperfections from firing the enamel inside the box.. Beautiful cobalt blue.. the brass closure still retains the original gold gilding.. It is an original piece from the Regency era, pre-1800, and was manufactured in the United Kingdom. This snuff box is perfect for any room and occasion, and can be used as a decorative collectible or a functional item. It is handmade and weighs 3 oz.
