Description: Antique Armor Bronze Corporation New York Bust Abraham Lincoln on Pedestal Bookend Statue. Measures about 7" tall; weighs 1 pound 7 ounces. The back base has the Armor Bronze impressed shield mark and the bottom shows the original paper label. Fine condition with no noteworthy damage and a nice aged patina, just slight normal edge wear, missing some of the original paper label on the bottom green felt - see detailed photos. Armor Bronze, formerly The National Metalizing Company, began in 1910 in New York and New Jersey. Changing the name to Armor bronze about 1920, they produced art objects, statuary, and lamps using a polychrome coloring process with its roots in ancient Egyptian and Chinese methods. They sometimes employed hand-etched details on their pieces. The company changed location in the 1930's to Massachusetts. It stopped producing in the late 1940s. Their bookends are bronze electro clad similar to how baby shoes were preserved.
