We are unsure as to the brochure’s exact age but are fairly certain that it dates back to the mid to late 1920s. The brochure is marked in part as follows: LET US OFFER SOME DECORATING SUGGESTIONS. LOWE BROTHERS H.S. PAINTS & VARNISHES. A PRODUCT FOR EVERY PURPOSE. THERE IS A LOWES BROTHERS PRODUCT FOR EVERY PAINTING AND DECORATING NEED. MORE THAN FIFTY YEARS’ MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE IS BACK OF THEM. HIGH STANDARD HOUSE PAINT. MELLOTONE-A FLAT WALL PAINT. MELLO-GLOSS-A SEMI-GLOSS WALL PAINT. NEPTUNITE VARNISH. LINDURO ENAMEL. The brochure includes a few illustrations with descriptions. The brochure measures roughly 5 1/4” x 3 7/16” when folded and 5 1/4” x 13 3/4” when fully opened. The brochure weighs roughly 0.20 oz. This brochure was removed from within an advertising scrapbook that has kept it in good condition for roughly the last 100 years. The brochure does have aging, yellowing, edge wear, scratches, bumped corners, wrinkles and/or crease marks, and manufacturing/printing imperfections. The item was attached to the scrapbook page using two circular tabs (half of each tab was adhered to the page and the other half was adhered to the back page of the item). This created a hinge-like effect that made it possible to still read the material inside. Part of both of these circular tabs are still adhered to the back page of the brochure (see pictures). The brochure appears to be free of any rips or tears. This rare original antique illustrated Lowe Brothers H. S.
