Description: Antique 1919 Swedish MW Rothoff 18K Gold CAMEO Pendant Brooch Pin 11.5g Fine Estate 18K Gold CAMEO Fully HallmarkedThis Cameo was carved and created in Sundval Sweden in 1919 by M.W. RothoffIt features a delicate and thin slice of shell with an intricately carved woman in a flowing sleeveless gown cinched at the top of the shoulders. Her hair is pinned up with a large comb, and a locke of her hair is curling down and flowing across her neck. She has large bedroom eyes and her pointed chin and nose are indicative of the time period. She is set in a sleek and smooth rich 18K yellow gold mounting with a classic braided border. The mounting implements a hinged c-clasp and hinged bale that can be tucked behind when wearing as a pin, or pivoted upward to thread a lovely chain through and worn as a pendant. HALLMARK INFO: This beauty is fully hallmarked as you can see in the photos. The first mark is the Makers Mark which reads “MWR” which is the mark of MW Rothoff who was a master carver dating from 1918-1925. The second mark is a distinct capital cursive “S” which is the Town Mark for “Sundval” in Sweden. The third mark are three little crowns which is the National Mark. The fourth mark is the gold purity which reads “18K”. And the final and fifth mark reads “R7” which is the date code and dates this beauty to exactly 1919. CONDITION:I would rate the condition as excellent as I can see no issues whatsoever. She is a beauty!
