Description: TUTANKHAMEN - ANCIENT KING OF EGYPT AND HIS "PRAYER" Details + Condition: A very unusual and rare advertising plaque, with Tutankhamen's prayer. Circa late 1930s. A tribute piece made of compressed board and molded paper maché. The piece features highly detailed Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic decorations on the sides, with "Tutankhamen's Prayer" written in Egyptian hieroglyphs in the center. On the bottom is the inscription, "From the World's Oldest Writings - Reynolds". Have not been able to locate another. THE WORLD'S OLDEST WRITINGS was originally a book by Henry James Reynolds, and was published in 1938 - and this plaque appears to be some type of promotional or advertising piece for the first edition's publication. Measures 10" x 12". Only slight rubbing present. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions! Also check out our other rare antiques, collectibles and art at Black Cat Caboodle.
