The original Ameco idea was the Morse key to be connected to the octal socket where the crystal was installed!! Ameco Co decided not to add a new part to the already short Parts list ( and not to make another hole in the chassis). They used the body of one crystal FT243 - at that time they were very easy to find-and connected the Morse key to it! Cheap and easy solution!! This is what I’m offering for sale: one used FT243 crystal prepared to be the AC-1 Morse key connector . The pins are empty inside . The FT 243 body has a hole on the side for the Morse key cable. Some soldering required ! You can use it in the original Ameco AC-1 transmitters . Even the Replicas are using this Morse key!!
