Description: Now here is a very special and rare item! This is a nitrogen compressor out of a military fighter jet aircraft! I was told that it was probably out of an F-4 Phantom, but was also used in a number of other fighter jet aircraft as well. I was also told that it was designed to cool the electronic sighting system on a fighter jet and cost the government tens of thousands of dollars each when new (and that is not in today’s dollars). Needless to say, this unit was built with the best materials and was of the best quality and highest technology available. Many of the parts are tooled, not cast, and it has so many features that you just won’t see in another compressor. I was told that this cools down to around 174 degrees below zero (or something in that vicinity). I have never hooked one up, but a friend of mine hooked one up to a radiator and power supply and cooled his airplane hangar with it. The ID tag on the side says that the power requirements are: 115 volts 3 phase, 400 HZ, 28 volts DC. I believe that my friend who hooked it up in his hangar ran it off of an inverter of some sort, but I don’t remember the details. What a fantastic item for a really impressive static display of an aviation collectible and a technical piece of aviation history! Due to its military origin, I am selling this item for display use only within the United States of America only and to citizens of the United States only. This item is not to be used in an aircraft as originally intended. Thanks for viewing this listing.
