At present, the increasing complexity of the experimental problems in exploring the high energy frontiers calls for novel techniques and large-scale detectors. The industries [that are] specialized in Advanced Technologies become the natural partners for such an enterprise, and the mutual interest for challenging standards dictated for physics requirements in industrial scale production methods has a close interrelationship at the borderline of technological and elementary particle research. This International Conference on advanced technology and particle physics was aimed at stimulating this process by getting together physicists from many countries involved in major projects at present, in future accelerators, or underground laboratories.
