Description: This 8 inch back saw is one of the uncatalogued open handle versions. There is 2 inches of plate under the back and the handle has a small chip on the top horn along with standard wear. The back and plate are uncleaned in any recent time. I would date this to the 1876-77 period, first of the modern saw nuts. This is one of those get it when you see it saws, make it yours.
