Description: 4/4 Full Size Italian Violin. This rare and almost antique violin could be your next vintage and collections item. Includes 2 professional German bows, with classic tiny mother pearl slab at the holding place.Original hot rod engraving on the inside of the back panel, reads - Galieri Filippo, 1871. Best-known origin is Naples, Italy.There are many speculations out there between authentic Galieri instruments and late 19th century German works of the Saxon school, suggesting the origin of labels inside, may be of much later and spurious insertion. However, this particular violin has a real hot-rod engraving inside, on the back of its panel. This exceptional violin was owned only by one (1) family, for approximately past 60 years. It was presented or granted to my mother in the early 1960's, by the Ministry of Music, after winning a National Ukrainian Competition, back in the Soviet Union, at that time. It was very well maintained within the family all these years, while taking my mom throughout hew whole music career, and in no small measure, myself, through all of my schooling and teen years, here in New York, at Julliard and Manhattan School.The instrument was restored and refreshed few times, but it was always a working and an actively playing instrument, and not a stuck up on a shelf, kind' of thing.
