For example, if we have a grommet advertised at 1.0 inches (example size ONLY), when measured on a caliper, it will measure at approx. 0.96 inches - or approx .04 inches LESS than the hole size of 1.0inches. This difference is by design to allow for the grommet to be inserted into the CUT hole size. These grommets after inserted into a cut hole are intended to move freely.
