3.2 Plumb Beveled Dayton with ‘New Permabond’ on White Oak

Description: This listing is for a beveled Plumb 3.2 Dayton pattern axe on White Oak. This axe was restored and built in San Francisco, California at Stunner Blades Customs. The beveled 3.2 Plumb Dayton was cleaned with natural patina intact. The bit was reground with a clean convex and is very sharp. The head was originally filled with Plumb Permabond, which was removed and thoroughly cleaned. The helve was carved from White Oak and hand fit to this head. The head was fully seated and wedged with Yellow Poplar. The top 1/4” of the eye was hand filled with proprietary resin, or ‘New Permabond’. The eye was filled twice and cured, as the wood grain soaked in the resin inside the eye. This axe was built to be used as a working axe. Total length is 28” with a weight of 4 lbs 1.1 oz.
