Description: Finally, high power subwoofer coils for many of the most popular motors are here and affordable! (Typical coils of this performance level are $70 each or more.) Used on our GONZO Jr and GONZO Jr. Junior subwoofers that utilize the 400oz, quad stacked and bolted, high power motors from Robot Underground. NOT ALL 3" COILS ARE THE SAME! We've used these coils for recone work on mostly old T3 Audio, Skar ZVX and Sundown Zv4, Zv5 and Zv6 subwoofers. They are also great on many of the old TC Sounds / AudioPulse products that Thilo Stompler and company used to OEM for, including Eclipse, Orion Car Audio, Sunfire and Sound Splinter just to name a few. Please only use metric as that is the global standard. We have a video on YouTube called, "Gap Dims aka Dimensions - KNOW HOW TO DO THIS"That you can watch to get the numbers you need to know. If you submit pics, please make sure you measure the top plate thickness at the GAP and include side photos of the motor and frame on top so we can see the spacing and frame that you want to use. (This may or may not be a good choice and we DO NOT ACCEPT returns on this item so we want YOU to get it right the first time. Typically longer coils like this one are meant for frames / motor configurations that utilize an 8.5" spider or larger. You can use them in some cases with a smaller 8" spider like our GONZO Jr. Junior subs, but for the most part, they do best with 8.5", 9.2" and 10" standard sizes like on the Skar cast frame, Sundown cast / tooled frame and of course the Ti frame produced formerly by TC Sounds and now Fi Car Audio's 12", 6 spoke version. (THANK YOU Mr. Atwell!) Voice coil specs: DCR: 2.45 ohms ID - 76.2mm (Remember that most shims are .5mm or greater. So you should make sure that the GAP ID / Pole OD is no more than 75.2mm for this coil.) OD - 81.8mm (Try to have .75mm to no more than 3mm space on each side of the coil. So that means you want to have around an 84-85mm top plate opening / ID or GAP OD for this particular coil. You can go as big as 88mm like on the old Skar ZVX motors.) WH - Aprx 70mm FH - 150mm or around 6.5" Former material is black anodized aluminum Coil wire on this part is bi-filiar, round aluminum (Note: There is no benefit to use flat wire whether copper or aluminum. This is a typical mislead or used as a marketing gimmick.) Coil Temp / Power rating: All voice coils are all rated the same, 450F. If anyone is rating them by power, they are either misleading you or don't know what they're talking about. Power ratings are INSANELY dynamic and there are some standards but most brands don't use them. That's one of the reasons we don't tell you the Xmax on our subwoofers. We only tell you the wind height because you can't lie to people about that. Many brands sadly will say ANYTHING to get you to buy their electronics. We think you can do better than that.
