They are used to show condition. There are a couple of missing rhinestones and one of the buttons has a broken shank. This is shown in a closeup photo. READ: My grandmother was a seamstress her whole life in East Boston from the 1930s to 1960s. Her basement was like a sewing factory. She had drawers full of buttons. These came from those drawers and I've had them since she passed in 2011. I don't know anything about these buttons other than that I am certain of their authenticity of age making them truly vintage. I take a great deal of pride in what I do and what I sell.
