Emblematic of beauty, honor, and strength, the tale follows the Princess Una and her faithful lion companion on a quest to save her parents from imprisonment by an evil dragon. Gorgeous Una and the Lion Imagery Obverse: The obverse is adorned with the likeness of His Majesty King Charles III. Per tradition, the King faces left, in the opposite direction of the previous monarch, the late Queen Elizabeth II. An ornate scalloped border surrounds the portrait near the rim of the coin. Inscribed "CHARLES III," "D.G. REX F.D.," "ST. HELENA" and "1 POUND." The effigy was designed by acclaimed British artist Glyn Davies. Reverse: The reverse, which is also the work of Mr. Davies, features Princess Una kneeling beside her lion guardian in a flourishing garden, with a stylized sun in the background. The image border contains the inscriptions "UNA AND THE LION" and "2023," along with the East India Company's distinctive "EIC" Mint mark.
