2006 John Thompson Classic Davidson EMU Stephen Curry NCAA Debut Ticket

Description: PSA WILL AUTHENTICATE This ticket is for the November 10th, 2006 Davidson vs Eastern Michigan and Michigan vs Central Connecticut State NCAA basketball doubleheader to kick off the John Thompson Classic. Michigan was the host of the Classic, so the ticket only lists the Wolverines game, which started at 8:00, but the same ticket admitted its bearer to the Davidson game that tipped off at 6 in the same arena. That Davidson game saw the NCAA debut of one of the greatest players of all time, Steph Curry, which makes this Currys NCAA debut ticket! Curry scored his first college basketball points and his first college 3 in this game. I know its odd not to have the Davidson game mentioned on the ticket, but as other collectors have noted, attendance for both the Michigan vs. Central Connecticut State game and the Davidson game were identical. And with a 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm tip off in the same arena, there was not enough time to clear out the crowd. Plus, most Michigan fans purchasing these season tickets were probably only interested in seeing their team and not a face off of two away squads. I checked in with the Michigan ticket office and they said based on their records and practices other games hostedwould be allowed entry on the one ticket. There are also news sources from the time you can reference about the Classic to confirm attendance, time, ticket packages, and admission rules. We personally attended these games as we are Michigan basketball season ticket holders and Michigan ticket collectors. We even purchased extra tickets at the box office that day and there is no mention of John Thompson Classic or double header on those either. The program from the game before the John Thompson Classic mentions tickets available for all 3 dates. It says buy first 3 dates get the 4th game free. This is a original authentic game used ticket from games 1 & 2 of the John Thompson Classic.
