Description: £2 Pound Coin EXTREMELY RARE First World War Navy Battleship FLAG ERROR 2015. This is an extremely RARE £2 coin with strike error (which has been confirmed by the Royal Mint) with what seems to resemble a flag on the battleship. 650,000 of the original design had been minted with only 274,219 in active circulation. However, it is unknown how many of the ones with this RARE strike error have survived. The Royal Mint strike up to 5 billion coins a year and from time to time cracks on the die cause pools of metal to form on the coin whilst striking. It just so happens that this bit of metal has caused the markings on these coins to look like a flying flag on the ship – fuelling speculation that two different variations were struck.
