Description: There is something nice and special about the people who love plants.*.*. Welcome to my Beautiful World of Gardening! . *.*. My garden is 100% organic. I do not use any chemicals You will receive: 2 healthy mature Melissa Lemon Balm mint plants. The important feature of this item is that these are 1-2 years old, with a well-developed root system (many root branches, wooded roots and oter atributes of mature roots). This means that they should survive the travel in the post office packaging, and they will produce more leaves and stems faster. I will try to send plants with large "clumps" of roots similar to those shown in the first photo. However, when I don't have large clumps, instead of one large-root melissa plant I will send 2-3 plants with smaller root; these smaller roots will also be mature, older, and well-developed (just not as wide as in the photo). The roots will be wrapped in moist media. The plants will be placed in a plastic bag or container - no separation. The leaves can be as green and nice as in the photo number 1, or they can be a bit tired (after all - this is a herb plant traveling in the box). During hot and cold weather, PLEASE do not allow these plants (herbs) to sit for too long in your mailbox. Please put the roots in the water for 24-48 hours, and your tired plant will be happy again. In some cases, the roots are not as wide as in the photo number 1; in this case, I will send two melissa plants with narrower but well-developed mature roots. In October-November (in Virginia) Melissa leaves are turning yellow and as of now they are not as bright-green as on the photos. Their leaves may have brown spots. Melissa will go dormant around November-December. It will start producing bright green leaves next spring. In warmer climates it may stay green the whole year. In March-April, the roots are large, the same size as in the photo, but the leaves are small, and bright-green. Around May-July, older leaves develop brown spots, and new leaves start growing next to them. Photo number 4 shows curled leaves and purple leaf bottoms in early December. The plants will be ready for planting in your garden soil or pots. When you receive these plants, - put the roots in water for 1-2 days, trim the whilted leaves. Then plant them in pots or garden soil; however, for the first 10 days do NOT expose them to direct sun light. They need the time to adjust to your environment. These plants are perennial, hardy, easy to grow in the garden soil and in containers. Great for tea. I also add crushed mint in many dished and when I make my own bread. My garden is 100% organic. I do not use any chemicals. Melissa is easy to grow, it likes sunny locations, but also grows well in the shade. It will grow fast to the height of approximately 3 ft.Will require VERY little care.Zones 4-9Disease resistant, grow vigorously, attracts pollinators. Melissa plants produce chemical elements repelling mosquitoes. This is a good way to protect yourself from Zika virus.Try to put several leaves of this plant on your neck or in your socks or your cap/hat or even ears and go outside. Mosquitoes will come, buzz, and immediately leave. This edible plant is a natural way to reduce stress. I add it to my salads and bread. I love Melissa tea! It does great job killing germs and keeping my teeth and gums healthy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will be delivered from Virginia.
