19th C. French Empire Porcelain 2Qt Tureen & Underplate Gilt Decoration

Description: Beautiful and rare early to mid 19th century French Empire porcelain 2-quart tureen with underplate c. 1800-1850. Features a hand-painted gilt sheaves of wheat motif with sprays of wheat and a smooth gilt rim, the tureen has a unique round floral handle design. Pieces are unmarked. Tureen measures 9 1/4" high to top of finial (5 1/2" high to rim) x 12 1/4" long handle to handle x 5 3/4" wide, underplate measures 15" long x 9 3/4" wide: pieces are in Excellent antique condition free of nicks, dings, fleabites or repairs, note there is some separation to the handles (non structural and original to the tureen) as well as some minimal overpaint to a few of the wheat sprays to cover imperfections from production, a common technique used during the time, please see all photos.
