Description: From the White House Historical Association: "The White House Grounds, honoring Franklin Pierce, 14th President of the United States, 1853–57. The design of the ornament is inspired by the renovations and redecoration of the White House in 1853 and 1854. The fancy gilt frame, based upon the elaborate gold-leafed frames of two huge mirrors Pierce hung in the state parlors, symbolizes the rich character of the new furnishings." The ornament is made with 24k gold finished brass and porcelain stone. The size of the ornament is approximately 3.25" (3 1/4 inches) in length, 3.25" (3 1/4 inches) in height and 0.125" (1/8 inch) in width. It is approximately 1 ounce in weight. Although the ornament is not new (unopened), it has not been used and the ornament, box and brochure are all in excellent condition. Original box and brochure included. Stand not included. Made in the USA.
