Description: 1997 Ford Expedition - Original Owner. This is one of the first Ford Expeditions ever manufactured (March 1997). Purchased in Raleigh North Carolina, moved with us to Dallas Texas, and again to Cincinnati Ohio. This SUV has been well maintained and has no significant issues. There is some wear and paint fading consistent with age, and the rocker panels also show some signs of rust, consistent with age. These first-generation Expeditions are heavily based on Ford's F-150 pickup. As a result, both models shared front-end styling and mechanical components, including engines, transmissions, and air suspensions. Later model year Expeditions moved away from the F150 infrastructure and went to 6 cylinder engines with standard suspensions The 1997 Expedition's long wheelbase provides three rows of seating to accommodate eight or nine passengers. A report by iSeeCars titled “Longest-Lasting Cars to Reach 200,000 Miles and Beyond” had the Expedition as number 4 in their list of the 10 longest-lasting vehicles!
