Description: Vintage Epiphone Sheraton II, Natural finish, Made June 1991 in Korea. Upgraded wiring harness and custom Porter Anthem Pickups! Maybe you clicked on this listing because of the awesome wood grain? Because surely, that's how I found it.Saw it, played it, bought it. It was a no-brainer to me. The stock pickups and wiring harness were pretty dull. While they did sound good cranked at 10, they neither cleaned up well (using volume and tone) nor did they feel dynamic. So, I splurged quite a bit on a Porter Pickups Anthem PAF set. A "Classic" in the bridge and a "Smooth" in the neck. Since I'm a Tele player, the wiring has been reduced to a master volume, and master tone wiring. 4 new CTS pots have been installed, but the bottom 2 are NOT wired in any way. Pickup selector was upgraded with a Epiphone branded Switchcraft switch and the output jack has been replaced with a full-contact Pure Tone jack. These pickups sound incredible. A tiny tiny bit noisy as early PAFs were, but in exchange they sound very open and dynamic. 5-Piece, rosewood fretboard neck. Frets have plenty of life in them and look great. Just under 8.5lb. According to the previous owner, he was only the 2nd owner. Apparently the first owner installed a Roland MIDI pickup in the 90s, as you can see by the 2 small holes between bridge pickup and bridge. Please refer to photos. This never bothered me, if it bothers you, take it to a luthier, they can make that disappear pretty easily. All in all, these 90s Korean made ones are legendary for a reason, the quality and craft is not in anyway comparable to the contemporary Chinese made ones. This a real rosewood fretboard with beautiful inlays. The original pick-guard is included. It's bent and has a bigger hole in it (I assume for the Roland GK). I didn't feel like covering up that wood grain either, so I removed it. The original truss-rod cover is included. It says "Gibson" on it. I removed it because I thought it was corny and it covers part of the inlays. Original pickups and wiring are also included. Non-AI conclusion :) Killer guitar from the golden age of the Sheraton II's in really good vintage condition with the exception of the 2 small GK mounting holes. $400+ in pickups and wiring upgrades. Master tone and master volume wiring, making it much more intuitive to sound sculpt. PLEASE feel free to contact me with questions! ASK.
