Description: Here’s 1.25” diameter coin from the British rule period of Hong Kong’s past. The 1976 gold-tone coin design is not spoiled by piercing, instead a ring is soldered to the top preserving the decagon (10-sided) shape. The coin is on a gold-tone horseshoe-shaped open ring with a ball on each end. One of the balls can screw off and on for adding keys and tightens securely. One side of the coin has a profile of the queen and reads “Queen Elizabeth the Second”. The reverse has an image of a lion in profile seated tall on hind legs wearing a crown and holding an orb. Around the coin edges are Chinese characters and the English words “Hong Kong, Five Dollars, 1976". Circulated condition of the coin of copper & nickel composition is good without deep scratches or dings, however, the gold-tone surface shows rub wear. Thanks for looking.
