Curtis, Jr. and Arthur Q. Davis, principles of the firm of Curtis and Davis and Associated Architects and Engineers of New Orleans, have been invited to attend the Richtfest ceremonies of the new Berlin Medical Center in West Berlin, Germany. The Medical Center is a 30-million dollar teaching and medical facility designed by Curtis and Davis under the auspices of The Benjamin Franklin Foundation (an agency of the United States Department of State), which is the administrative body charged with the construction of the Center. The Richtfest will take place on October 14 and, in Germany, is a ceremony participated in by the construction workers and the city officials at the time the building has reached its maximum height, and is similar to the New Orleans custom where a tree is placed on the highest point of the building under construction.
