Former Governor Jimmie Davis (above) today announced entry into race for Louisiana governorship against Earl K. Long and several others. Davis, a farmer, businessman and singer of hillbilly ballads, swept into the Governor's office in 1944 aided by his singing "You Are My Sunshine" backed by his own hillbilly band.
