Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist . . . 1957 Milwaukee Braves World Championship team card issued in 1979 by TCMA, Ltd. as "Bonus Card No. 2" Postcard size (3-1/2" X 5") card ~ Near Mint condition A very nice, limited edition card originally issued as a bonus card for those early purchasers of TCMA's Baseball History Series: The Fifties. Seldom seen either as part of the set or singly. From the card reverse: "Paced by Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews, the '57 Braves became the only Milwaukee team ever to win a World Series. The Braves unseated the Broklyn Dodgers as National League champions, winning the pennant by eight games over St. Louis, and behind Lew Burdette's three victories defeated the New York Yankees in seven games to win the World Series. Aaron led the NL in home runs (44) and runs batted in (132) to win league MVP honors." The 6th edition of Standard Catalog of VINTAGE Baseball Cards (page 451) lists a value of $10 for this card in Near-Mint condition.
