Description: These RCA 12AU7A tubes test: 80-88/56 86-82/56 on my TV-7D tester (calibrated 1/27/24). Brand new tubes should test 86-86/56 or higher. Tested for shorts, emission, gas and noise. These are equivalent to the 12AU7/ECC82. The “A” just designates a heater design that can be used in series if needed. These came from a 1950’s piano organ, which is good because tubes for organs were specifically selected for low noise and microphonics. They have tall black plates and angled D/Square getters. They’re date matched May 1957. I mostly cleaned them up. The dust comes off easily if you want to clean the rest, but so does the branding. Be careful when handling them not to rub it off! How do they sound? I find them to be very enjoyable. They’re good all around for bass, mids and treble. They’re lush and warm, have good separation and detail but are not overly detailed and fatiguing. They’re also not very bright (treble heavy) like the clear top versions from the same time period. I find myself enjoying music with these and not picking it apart. I do not accept returns unless the items are not as described. Please look at the pictures and ask me any questions BEFORE buying anything. I’m in the process of listing thousands of tubes. If you want something in particular message me to see if I have it. Thanks!
