Decent corners Centered Nicely preserved NO bends, wrinkles or creases Vintage ‘52 Hamner had a long successful career in baseball, seventeen seasons in all, sixteen with the Phillies. Hamner signed with the Phillies in ‘44 and at seventeen, played 21 games in the majors. 1948 was his first full season with the Phillies, and he batted .260 in 129 games. From then on, he was in the Philadelphia line up most days. In ‘49, he led the league in at bats. In 1950, Hamner led the league in games played with 157. He made the all Star team three years running in ‘52, ‘53, and ‘54, batting a combined .283 average and playing over 150 games each year. His last full year with the Phillies was in ‘58, splitting time with Cleveland in ‘59 with the Phillies. Cleveland released him, and Hamner turned to minors in ‘60, and spending ‘61 and part of ‘62 in the minors before retiring from Kansas City after seven games in 62. He finished his career with a .262 lifetime batting average.
