Description: 1941 New Zealand half penny. The obverse shows an uncrowned portrait of George VI. The legend around the portrait is "GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR". The reverse shows a Hei-tiki, an ornamental Maori pendant, with Maori ornamental scrolls on each side. The legend around the border is "NEW ZEALAND HALF PENNY", with the date, 1941, at the bottom center. The obverse shows a little toning on the portrait, and some of the field right around it, but with a lot of red and luster showing. The reverse shows mostly all red , and lustrous, with only a very little toning of the original red color.
