Description: - This blood red Vintage 1940s FLUSH WALL radio is one of the more unusual sets I’ve run across in many years. The color is the key - super vivid red Catalin, Bakelite or Lucite – I can’t be certain – the material has been called Catalin in several references. This is a full cased radio - all of the FLUSH WALL sets I’ve been able to find are just a faceplate and fit into a recess on the wall, exposing only the front, dial etc. Somehow this example was made as a compete set with top, sides and bottom – and it is beautiful. The 4 corner holes for wall mounting are present making this comlpeted set a mystery. The size is 9 ¼” long x 6 ½” high x 4” deep – no chips or cracks, nothing to mention, a very pretty thing – AND, when plugged in it gets great reception – very cool. Adding to the mystery is the unusually short cord which would have been fine for a wall mounted set. However it came to be a complete table radio, this Art Deco inspired beauty with striking gold and black foil dial is a looker.
