Description: Offered for sale is a 1937 Parker Vacumatic Maxima in Red Pearl. This oversized Parker Vacumatic has been restored with a new diaphragm and is in good working shape to be a daily user. The pen has a date code of 7 and one dot, putting the production at the third quarter of 1937. Overall the pen is very presentable with decent color and a medium-fine nib that is smooth and has some line variation -- good for a Vac. There are no cracks, gouges, hairlines, engravings, removed engravings or other defects. Please note that the pen shows surface wear; wear and brassing to the clip; brassing to the cap band and tassie; and a worn though largely visible imprint. Also note that the blind cap has been replaced with an original Parker Vacumatic Maxima blind cap. The color is actually a little better in the blind cap than in the barrel. The bottom jewel is black, not striped like the top jewel. Also, there is a slight mismatch between the barrel and the blind cap. Not a big deal but you can feel the lip of the barrel. There is ambering to the barrel but some visibility to the ink chamber. All in all, this is a great red Maxima that can be carried as a daily user without fear or hesitation. Offered at an attractive Buy It Now price, as Red Maximas are getting awfully hard to find.
