As the family living in the lower floor of the barn moved out. The family living "upstairs" moved to the first floor and another family moved into the upper story. As the other 350 homes are completed the families will move from their barns into the houses. The Homesteads contain 15 acres each and a stone house. They cost $2,350 each and the Homesteader is to repay the government over a period of 15 years. Seven families moved into completed homes at the official opening ceremonies. The houses are built by the Homesteaders themselves and are made of stone quarried on the Homestead area. The lumber comes from the Homestead forests.Photo measures 8.5 x 6.5inches.
