Description: Kalamazoo KG-11 Senior Flat Top Acoustic Guitar Throughout the 1930's, Gibson took some of its most popular designed guitars and manufactured them as off-brand instruments to be sold through catalogs like Montgomery Ward. The popularity of these more affordable, ladder braced instruments, such as the original "Recording King" guitars, lead to Gibson introducing Kalamazoo guitars as their in house "budget" at that time. This 1933 Kalamazoo KG-11 is a fantastic example of a rare pre-war guitar and is one of the most popular and common models in the range. The ladder braced design projects well with a tight, punchy sound that is perfect for finger style playing. It is considered one of the more resonant and deep sounding examples of that time. Gibson designed the body of the guitar with a unique and unusual bell shape, making it well ahead of its time. The two-tone Dark Sunburst finish is beautiful! Comes with Original Manual (missing front cover) containing directions on how to hold and tune the guitar, as well as introductory directions on playing. Manual includes 24 full pages of sheet music and compositions from songs of that era. Please look closely at every picture. I intended to capture most all of the scratches, marks, imperfections, and the fact that it is missing the "E" String (I think!!) Some deterioration is obviously age appropriate. Other damage, I can only surmise was due to neglect and one or more of the owners' inabilities to understand the worth and beauty of this highly rare guitar!! (I am not the owner of this guitar, nor do I play any instruments or have any knowledge of whether or not they are tuned correctly)
