1924 - Practical Telepathy by Joseph Ovette w/ Provenance of well Known Magician

Description: An incredibly rare find with an interesting nameplate Provenance. This Copy belonged to a well Known Magician by the Name of Eric C. Lewis! I’ve included a screenshot (last photo of the listing) of his basic wiki profile for those who aren’t already familiar with him. A previous Book seller (who had this book at some point) had this priced at $225 in their inventory notes (pencil) inside the front cover. The nameplate reads: “Populus Vult Decipi … from the library of Conjuring and Allied Arts in the possession of Eric C. Lewis (followed by his address at the time). This was found In the basement of a 22 bedroom, 27000 square foot mega mansion that had been Hoarded (I’m not exaggerating) wall to wall… ceiling to floor… In Every room short of the bathroom and kitchen. The owner started a Walt Disney Historical Society and apparently made a fortune 🤷🏻‍♂️. The family hired somebody to come in and start clearing stuff out via Online Sales. The entire basement was filled with Horror, Occult, Halloween and Antique War Memorabilia. The host of the Auction was pulling random items off shelves and running it… that’s where I got this. Because Of the extreme Rarity, subject matter and of course interesting provenance & history… I’ve set the price high… but I’ve turned on (and am open to) offers.
