Description: I have for sale a guest medal for the 1909 Hudson-Fulton celebration that took place in New York to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson river and the centenary of successful steamboat navigation. This medal has two parts and I believe it originally had a ribbon attached when made because it has a ribbon attachment on the pin back side. The medal appears to be made of white metal?, and its in a high grade circulated condition. The top pin back bar has an insert that reads GUEST. The two parts are held together by a short chain. The bottom piece at the obverse rim reads HUDSON-FULTON - CELEBRATION, it then shows the bust of Hudson & Fulton & then on a ribbon below the bust it reads SEPT 25TH - OCT 9TH - 1909. The reverse reads NEW YORK TO ALBANY. In the center it shows two ships with their names below HALF MOON - 1609 and CLERMONT - 1807. On the rim of the obverse in tiny letters it reads Bamrick - NY - Preuss. On reverse rim in tiny letters it reads Ter-centenary - Dieges - & Clust - Centenary.
