Description: This copy of "The Call of the Wild," is a first edition very early reprint made in January of 1904, written by Jack London. The hardcover book was published by Macmillan in New York. This very early printing features a beautiful cover design. This book has been well loved over the last 120 years. The cover boards and spine fabric wrap are tattered, and the seam is torn. The inside front seam has cracked, there was tape applied at the seam . See the photo. The front end page has a stamp from the previous owner and a small pocket glued on. Also, some old pencil notations that appear to have been erased. Some of the pages are loose and are tucked into place. The seam is cracked in a few places. A few pages have some smudge marks. The rear paste down has a name written in pencil. Despite this books poor condition, it is quite rare to find. This great literary masterpiece is in need of rescue!
