Description: Here for sale is a sweet late 18th to early 19th century tin sander. Often referred to as a pounce pot, it would have held small grains of sand, called pounce, that would be sprinkled onto ones freshly written words to aid in drying the ink. It is simply made from tin, and left unpainted. It measures 2 3/4 inches tall by 2 7/8 inches across the top. Good condition with honest patina and age. A simple piece, but kind of charming in its own way !!!! Buyer pays shipping.
