Description: This amazing 18th century Whitehall half model, measuring 6'2" in length, is a true collector's item. Crafted by a master boat builder, this piece is a stunning representation of naval history. The design was used primarily as a livery/taxis, servicing the ships lying at anchor in Boston, New York or San Francisco harbors. The origins were of British design, but each region had their own characteristics adapted to improve performance. This design is based on the Boston Whitehall from the Mystic Seaport archives. The model is planked in pine, with steam bent oak frames, Douglas fir keel, stem and transom. The fasteners are copper rivets. Made in the United States, this model has not been modified and does not come with any California Prop 65 warning. Perfect for any boat and ship collector, this very large display model is totally unique. Whether you're a history buff or simply appreciate beautiful and unique collectibles, this Whitehall half model is sure to impress. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of naval history.
