Description: History of the Woman Suffrage Movement. By Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Matilda Joslyn Gage. Printed by Fowler and Wells. Circa 1882. Volume II only. 952 pp. 9.5” x 6.25”. As-is, with loss of front board, most cloth on spine, and all pages up until the preface. Text block remains split into several parts. Staining to top corners of pages. Assorted markings and marginalia. Includes a small assortment of black-and-white plates throughout of prominent suffragettes. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A rather scarce piece. Likely printed in or around 1882, when Volume II was originally released. A total of six volumes were completed from 1881 to 1922, finishing long after the deaths of Anthony and Stanton. The volumes are considered the most prominent look into the suffrage movement, especially in its early stages, although it almost exclusively focuses on the viewpoints and history of the wing led by Anthony and Stanton. A wonderful piece for rebinding and further preservation. FORN-SHELF-0532-BB-0824-aj2440
