Description: The 1873-S is a tough date for the chopmarked US trade dollar series. This PCGS holdered example boasts middle/high AU details with signs of past environmental damage, and one attractive Chinese chop mark on each the obverse and reverse. The "大" character on the obverse is known to members of the Chopmark News as C-44 "da" translated today as "big" and is commonly seen on silver crowns that circulated in far East trade in the 19th century. The relief chop on the reverse is nicely placed but more difficult to identify. Feel free to ask any questions and thank you for looking.
