A major rarity in the Indian Head Cent series, this 1871 Indian Head Cent is struck with the reverse of 1869, also known as a "Shallow N". Many collectors consider this to be part of a complete set, and collect both the Bold N and Shallow N variants. Similar to the collectibility of the 1878 Morgan Feather differences. There are not many known in this condition. Only a handful better, including an MS65RD that I have previously owned. That coin is not full red and would not grade as such today.
