This adapter fits into the standard cavity of the blaster and allows you to use 3 rechargeable 18650 LiIon cells in place of the standard 6 D-cell alkalines. Better for the environment and your wallet.The circuitry shown is used to adjust the output voltage of the adapter from 12.6v output of the 3 LiIon cells down to the designed 9v of the blaster. The voltage will be preset to 9v before leaving my workshop. If you choose to overclock your blaster by increasing the voltage, there is a chance that the motors may burn out. Installation & Use:The only modification required to the blaster is to remove the 4 yellow plastic dividers with a pair of pliers or cutters. This does not impact the use of D cells should you wish to go back.Slide the adapter into the blaster cavity as depicted in the picture. Using the supplied plastic shim as a tool, compress the lower contact spring in the blaster and completely press the adapter into place.Add (3) 18650 cells (not supplied with the adapter) with the negative ends contacting the springs within the adapter. Disclaimers: When your 18650 battery requires charging, the cells must be removed from the adapter and charged using a charger designated for 18650 batteries. The adapter can remain in the blaster.
