These notes were printed by A. Malus of New Orleans until the fall of New Orleans in April, 1862. Although datelined Jefferson City, these notes were issued from a different location as the government attempted to stay out of Union hands. This Civil War era note grades Very Fine+ with a small tear on the top right edge and minor mounting remnants on the reverse.It measures ~ 6" x 3".
