Description: This is an 1837 Matron Head large cent. Specifically, it’s a Newcomb-5 with a rarity of R2 rather common. Very visible die cracking on the obverse, *3 to *8, as expected for an N-5. This coin is holed and there is some obverse scratching as shown in the pictures. I would call this one a VG details coin. Nice chocolate brown color.
