Description: Up for sale is a set of different 100 SHEQALIM Coins. All of these coins where at certain point of time in circulation, including the Piedfort Proof coin and Error coin. The Error coin has with a weak strike on both sides. It is rare to find a coin with a weak strike on one side but on both it is very rare and makes this coin very collectable. On the front the text is light or missing; on the back the text is light to nonexistent, the coat of arms, the motif is also light. The Common type coin (which is also included in this set) features: diameter: 29 mm., weight: 10.8 gr., edge: slant-structured, wide and deep reeds, obverse: the emblem of the State of Israel; "Israel" in Hebrew, English and Arabic. origin of motif: replica of a coin issued by Mattathias Antigonus (37 - 40 B.C.E.) with the seven-branched candelabrum, reverse: the denomination "100 Sheqalim" in Hebrew and English; the date in Hebrew, metal: copper 75% & nickel 25%, ceased to be legal tender: 1985.
