Description: ***10+ Barnyard Mix Duck Hatching Eggs | TN NPIP Certified | Free Shipping | Happy Hatching*** Hello Friends - We are excited to bring you fresh hatching eggs from our happy hens. These unwashed eggs come from our free-range, healthy flocks. Each egg is selected and packaged for you carefully. We will send you a mix of duck eggs that we have available at the time of picking. We hope these duck eggs bring you joy to your backyard flock and home. We encourage you to read through all the information below including our no return policy. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us, and we will do our best to get you successfully hatching. ******************** What does "barnyard mix" mean? This is our definition of what we call a "barnyard mix." We free-range. Every. Single. Day. We currently have four drakes with one being full-blooded Runner/Pekin, one being full-blooded Rouen, and the other three being mixed with Runner/Pekin, Black Swedish, Cayuga, Rouen, and Buff. All of our ducks free range which means that our drakes "mingle" with all of our hens -- all day long. The offspring are mostly going to be a mixed breed and not full-blooded. This is what we call a "barnyard mix." We have a barnyard mix because we do not keep our full-blooded hens locked up with one specific full-blooded rooster for an extended period of time to get full-blooded hatching eggs. ******************** What breeds make up our flock?Currently, we have 22 ducks which includes four drakes. Our eggs will be mixed breeds because these ducks are free-range and all mingle with each other all day long. (Our flock is normal-sized adult ducks -- no small breeds are among our flock.) Current Breeds as of 05/2024:Runners/Pekin - - - possible egg color: white Black Swedish - - - possible egg color: white, green, tinted Cayuga - - - possible egg color: grayish to blue-gray and then white by end of laying season Rouen - - - possible egg color: white, blue, green Buff - - - possible egg color: white, green, tintedMixed Breeds Note: We will have not be adding more breeds in year 2024. ******************** What steps do I need to take before putting my newly-arrived eggs in the incubator? Please DO NOT put your eggs directly in the incubator. Let them rest at room temperature in an egg carton with the pointy end of the egg facing down for 24 hours. This is also a good time to start your incubator so that it has 24 hours to warm up and allow the temperature and humidity to level out. If you know that your eggs are going to arrive on a certain day, it is best to be home. You don't want them to be out in the cold too long, nor do you want them left in the sun for too long. This may lessen your chance of successful hatching. We live in TN, and we are normally a pretty humid state. We, personally, dry hatch our hatching eggs, but this may not be successful for you depending on your location. Please research and find out what your humidity should be for your hatching eggs. Since we are shipping from TN, your air cell within your eggs will be a bit smaller. We recommend you track your air cell while incubating. If your air cells are not growing large enough, you have too much humidity. This is what was happening to us in the beginning, and our chicks were drowning in the egg (at least this is what we gathered from the research). This is when we learned about dry hatching -- which works where we live. If you can't dry hatch, we recommend below 40% for the first 18 days and then 65%-75% during your lockdown days. The incubators that we use auto-set the temperature for duck hatching eggs to 99.5. This has worked for us. Do not open your incubator during lockdown as this may "shrinkwrap" your chicks that have already started to pip through(another research topic that we learned the hard way). We know you want to love on them, but be patient! We normally let our little hatched chicks hang out in the incubator for 24-48 hours after hatch just to be sure all their brothers and sisters make it out. ******************** How long does it take duck eggs to hatch?28 days (We usually give them one extra day to make it out of the egg -- just in case...lol.) Our duck eggs take 28 days. There is another breed (Muscovy) that takes 35 days, but we do NOT have any of these ducks in our flock. ******************** What color will my ducks be?Our duck eggs will hatch a variety of colors since they are a mixed breed (aka barnyard mix). There is a chance for full-blooded ducks because we do have some full-blooded drakes and full-blooded hens, but most will be a mixed breed because we free-range. ******************** What color hatching eggs will I receive? They will be mostly white -- if not all white. We do have a few ducks that lay grayish and greenish eggs, but those are few and far between depending on the time of year. We will ship you a variety of colors if we have them available at time of picking so that they are fresh. Please contact us with any special requests (such as -- all white eggs, etc.). We can't promise that we can send only certain colors, but we will attempt to accommodate as much as we can. The standard is that we will send you a variety of egg colors from the fresh batch that we have available. ******************** Is your flock certified?Yes, we are NPIP certified in the state of TN, and we are AI clean. ******************** Is your flock safe as free-range ducks? We always say they are living their best life. Yes, there is a chance of predators, but we take extra steps to help ensure the safety of our animals. We have a 32-foot building that we use as a coop, and it is well-sealed at night. In addition, we use electric poultry netting to border our property to help keep out predators, and we have a Great Pyrenees guardian dog that lives with our birds to protect them. (We also have chickens and turkeys to keep the ducks company.) ******************** When will you ship my eggs?We ship via USPS Priority Mail. We will ship your eggs within 1-2business days as we pick them fresh for you. We will ship you all colors that are available at time of picking. Please note that most (if not all)of our duck eggs will be white. If you need them shipped on a certain date, please contact us with any special instructions. We will attempt to accommodate as much as we can. ******************** How much is shipping? We have set a flat rate shipping fee which includes all of our materials and shipping fee to make it easier to know exactly what you pay. We may also offer free shipping. Please reference the details at checkout. ******************** What is your return policy? We DO NOT accept returns or cancellations. By making this purchase, you agree to the following:1. There is no guarantee on hatch rates. 2. The hatch rate may be from 0 to 100 percent. 3. This purchase is for hatching eggs only (not live ducklings). 4. Purchase only if you are willing to assume the risk of shipped eggs as refunds cannot be given. 5. Shipping eggs can be risky with any delivery company, including the USPS, as it has to go through several facilities, vehicles, post offices, bumps, and more. 6. Shipping eggs is for sure a gamble, but also hatching rates may decrease for other reasons, including, but not limited to, variables with incubating. 7. Note that USPS can take longer to deliver than anticipated for many different reasons; however, as long as they are delivered within 10 days from the day we ship them, put them in the incubator as we can't offer returns for these. They are still considered viable. If your shipment arrives past 10 days from the day we ship them, please contact us, and we will send you out a fresh shipment of eggs as long as USPS confirms the delivery date was more than 10 days from the shipping date. 8. Since we are certified, we do not (and cannot) allow or accept returns due to the nature of dealing with live-hatching eggs and bio-hazard risks.Again, if you cannot agree to all of these terms, please do not purchase eggs from us, but we do hope you take the risk. If you are able to agree to these terms, then we are happy you have decided to give us a chance to fulfill your purchase. It is such a joy to see new life spring out of an egg. Happy Hatching!!!
